Mystified Reader asks: "Why do we have Barnes and Noble and also Borders? Aren't they really the same thing? There used to be chain called Bookstar, and it was so much like Barnes and Noble that it disappeared into B&N. I like the Borders chain, but I do not understand why it exists. We do not need both DeSoto and Plymouth."
